AWNING REPLACEMENT
Complete awning replacement usually takes up to about 3 hours. This encompasses removal of the complete awning - arms, roller tube and fabric, then replacing the complete assembly with new. You can safely estimate removal at about 1.5 hours and install at about the same, 1.5 hours. You can anticipate around $800-$1000 for a new roller tube with fabric. Arms are about $250 each for manual and $400 each for electric.
AWNING FABRIC REPLACEMENT
Despite replacing fewer parts, awning fabric replacement takes a similar amount of time to a complete awning replacement. This is due to the fact that the roller tube has to be disconnected from both arms, fabric has to be pulled out of the rail and removed from the roller tube, new fabric has to be carefully threaded into both the roller tube and the rail on the side of your RV and arms must be reinstalled onto the roller. It's a lot of labor and takes multiple people, but parts cost is drastically less. Fabric usually costs around $300 for Dometic's universal vinyl fabric options.
AWNING ARM REPLACEMENT
Replacement of awning arms reasonably could take about an hour apiece. So, give or take 2 hours for both arms. Again, arms are about $250 each for manual and $400 each for electric.
