Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

DID YOU KNOW…………

….that there is a nationally recognized certification program for RV
Service & Repair?

YES, there is!

The Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) and Recreational Vehicle Dealer Association (RVDA) have joined forces in developing a nationally recognized RV technician certification program. This program was developed to assist the RV industry and the public in identifying those professionals who have demonstrated the knowledge and ability to satisfy established standards in RV diagnostics and repair procedures, as adopted by the Governing Board. The program tests and certifies only individuals; not Dealerships, companies, or other types of business entities. There are two general certification designations:

Certified RV Service Technician
Master RVDA RVIA Certified RV Service Technician
Certified RV Service Technician
Master Certified RV Service Technician

….that RVIA-RVDA Certified RV Service Technicians can prove that they are legitimate?

YES, they can!

The RVIA-RVDA issues a wallet size laminated ID card along with an actual certificate to each Certified RV Service Technician for display.

….that RVIA-RVDA Certified RV Service Technicians must maintain
on-going technical training?

YES, they do!

Certified Technicians must provide proof of continuing education to the RVIA-RVDA Education Department in order to maintain their certifications.

….that repairs on your coach by unauthorized technicians could void your
warranty?

YES, it could!

By using unauthorized technicians, you are jeopardizing your safety and potentially setting yourself up for future coach problems . Most coach manufacturers and suppliers only honor warranty requests if using their Preferred Authorized Service Centers. Manufacturers and suppliers maintain a database of Preferred Authorized Service Centers so be sure to check with them first for repair facilities in your area. You can even ask if they have any authorized mobile RV repair companies!

….that your RV requires proof of annual maintenance on various components for the manufacturers to accept warranty claims?

YES, they do!

Manufacturers such as Dometic are leading the way in developing warranty guidelines for their customers to follow in order to be eligible for warranty claims. Be sure and review all owner manuals that come with your coach so you can maintain the necessary records to stay compliant.

Also, check out our ‘Tech Tips’ page for a new maintenance tip each month.

….that you can request proof that the technician doing your work is qualified upon arrival prior to any work being done?

YES, you can!

Most manufacturers have product training available for RV technicians. After completing the product training with the manufacturer, each technician that attends the course receives a certificate of attendance. In many cases, the manufacture requires the technicians to successfully pass their test prior to obtaining their training certificate.

When our technicians arrive at each job, they gladly produce the verifiable certifications proving that they are authorized and competent to do the service and/or repair that is being requested!

….do you offer RV repair services outside of Oregon?

NOT YET.

We are strictly an Oregon based company servicing Portland and the surrounding areas, and do not service Washington state. However, many customers have crossed the bridges into Oregon and met us at large parking areas near shopping centers. Being exclusively mobile allows us to meet anyone virtually anywhere within our service area……even at Oregon highway rest areas!
